# Blind Transfer

Learn how to transfer calls quickly and efficiently without prior consultation (Blind Transfer).

A **Blind Transfer** (also known as "Cold Transfer") is a method where you transfer an active call directly to another participant without consulting them first. As soon as you initiate the transfer, the call ends for you and the caller connects directly to the destination (colleague, queue, external number).

This method is particularly efficient if you want to forward the caller quickly and no prior announcement to the recipient is necessary.

## Transfer via Call Element

The classic way to transfer a call is directly via the active call element in your PASCOM app.

1. During an active call, click the **Transfer** button in the call element.
2. Enter the **phone number**, **extension** or **name** of the destination in the input field.
3. Click the **green handset** to finally transfer the call.

## Transfer via Contact List (Recommended)

A even more efficient method is transferring via the contact list. Thanks to the **presence status**, you can immediately see if the desired colleague is available before you transfer the call. You also save yourself from typing the phone number.

1. During the active call, search for the desired colleague or queue in your **contact list**.
2. **Right-click** on the contact.
3. Select the **Transfer** option from the context menu.

**Efficiency Tip:** Prefer using the **contact list** method. This prevents unsuccessful transfer attempts to colleagues who are currently "Away" or "Busy".

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.pascom.net/en/user/pascom-app-userguide/blind-transfer.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `build a script that syncs our docs to a CMS` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
