# PASCOM Mobile Integration

Learn how to configure and integrate PASCOM Mobile softphones for seamless mobile communication with your PASCOM cloud phone system.

The PASCOM Mobile Integration allows you to use the PASCOM Mobile App as a softphone, extending your business communication capabilities to your smartphone. This guide covers the configuration of Mobile Softphones within the PASCOM Admin Dashboard as well as the various mobile pairing methods.

## Creating a Mobile Softphone

To create a new mobile softphone, follow these steps in the PASCOM Admin Dashboard:

1. Navigate to **Devices**.
2. Click **Add**.
3. Select **Mobile Integration**.

![Mobile Softphone Configuration](https://2713225-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FVIw0BpSv358R2Pr2HflD%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-425722f549c26a35d3bbda2958c060244987079c%2Fadd-new-mobile-integration.en.png?alt=media)

The basic settings for the new Mobile Softphone will then be displayed.

| Parameter                     | Description                                                                                                                                                                                                     |
| ----------------------------- | --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Display Name** | Enter a descriptive name for the Mobile Softphone. This name will be displayed in the device list and other areas of the PASCOM system. *Example: "Max Mustermann's Device"* |
| **Mobile Number** | Enter the mobile number assigned to this device. This is mainly used for GSM fallback and is important to ensure that calls can still be received even when no data connection is available. |
| **GSM Only** | This option configures the softphone to use *only* GSM for calls, bypassing VoIP. If this option is set to "YES," the PASCOM App will call the mobile number via the telephone network rather than a VoIP call. |
| **Accept call via key press** | If activated, you must press at least one DTMF key (a digit on the dial pad of the mobile device) within 4 seconds of picking up an incoming GSM call in order to actually accept the call. |
| **SIP Options** | Advanced configuration options for the SIP connection. These settings are generally not required unless you have specific requirements or need to troubleshoot connection issues. |
| **Assignment** | Here, you assign the device to a specific user. Without this assignment, the Mobile Softphone cannot be used. |

## Mobile Pairing Methods

There are three methods for pairing the PASCOM Mobile App with the PASCOM cloud phone system:

1. **QR Code Pairing (Admin Initiated)**
2. **Email Pairing (Admin Initiated)**
3. **Manual Pairing (User Initiated)**

### QR Code Pairing

This method is ideal for preparing company-owned devices for employees. As an administrator, you can generate a QR code that can be scanned to pair the mobile device.

1. Navigate to **Devices** in the Admin Dashboard.
2. Select the desired Mobile Softphone from the list.
3. In the device settings, click the **QR Pairing** menu item.
4. A QR code will be displayed.
5. On the mobile device, open the PASCOM Mobile App and use the pairing process to scan the code.
6. The PASCOM Mobile App will then configure itself automatically.

### Email Pairing

This method is useful when employees are using their private mobile devices and the administrator needs to facilitate the pairing process.

1. Navigate to **Devices** in the Admin Dashboard.
2. Select the desired Mobile Softphone from the list.
3. In the device settings, click the **Email Pairing** menu item.
4. The PASCOM cloud phone system generates an email with a unique pairing link and sends it to the email address stored for the user.
5. The user opens the email on their **mobile device** and clicks on the pairing link.
6. The PASCOM Mobile App will then configure itself automatically.

![E-Mail for the user to pair themselves](https://2713225-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FVIw0BpSv358R2Pr2HflD%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-86552fe13ce4eb911b96fb574e651fda028149a1%2Femail-pairing.de.png?alt=media)

This method eliminates the need for users to manually enter server addresses or other configuration details.

{% hint style="info" %}
The email containing the link to the QR code is valid for **24 hours**. Once the QR code has been opened via the link in the email, it remains active for **60 minutes** and can be used for pairing within this time period.
{% endhint %}

### Manual Pairing

This method allows users to pair the PASCOM Mobile App themselves. Detailed instructions can be found [here](/en/user/pascom-app-userguide/pairing.md).

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.pascom.net/en/setup/endpoints/mobile-integration.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `build a script that syncs our docs to a CMS` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
