## System Backup

### Backup via the Admin Web Interface

Your PASCOM system has the option of creating backups directly via the admin web interface. To do this, go to **Setting-Symbol** > **Backup** on **Perform action**. There are other options available to you here.

1. Include Recordings.
2. Include received Facsimiles.
3. Include Voicemails.
4. Include Chat Files.
5. Include human redable CSVs.

As soon as the database backup is completed, you will receive a link to **download** your **backup file**.

### Open and view backup file

The backup file can be opened with an unarchiver (unpacker). In the file structure of the backup file you will find a folder with CSV files, which you can view and analyse.

## System Restore

{% hint style="success" %}
No backups of server versions older than PASCOM 19 can be imported into PASCOM ONE.
{% endhint %}

### Restore via the Admin Web Interface

Your PASCOM system has the option of importing backups directly via the admin web interface. To do this, go to **Setting-Symbol** > **Imports** and **Restore database**.

<figure><img src="https://2713225-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FVIw0BpSv358R2Pr2HflD%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-7ed57bcb5e82d4b4cd93ad507b1b2241d835ea0f%2Frestore_database.en.png?alt=media" alt="Restore Database" width="80%"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

Select your **backup file** via **select file** and start the recovery process with the button **Upload**.

### Restore via the Installation-Wizard

When setting up a new PASCOM telephone system, you can use the installation wizard to import your existing database backup during the setup process.

<figure><img src="https://2713225-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FVIw0BpSv358R2Pr2HflD%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-486962b9be96cf2c552ee7ec0e05d88d4f8ec132%2Frestore_wizard.en.png?alt=media" alt="Restore Database" width="100%"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

Simply click on the **Yes** button, upload your backup file and the rest of the process will do the installation wizard for you.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.pascom.net/en/operations/system/backup.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `build a script that syncs our docs to a CMS` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
