# Calendar from iCal

Synchronize your calendars via an .ics file

Create a new connector profile by logging into the PASCOM Web UI and navigating to **Settings** > **Connector** > **Add**.

Select the option *iCal-Calendar* and enter the following information:

| Field    | Description            |
| -------- | ---------------------- |
| **Name** | Connector profile name |

After saving, the template can be modified according to requirements under the tab **Basic Data**.

### Basic Data

Under the basic data tab, you can configure your LDAP connection more precisely or update the previously configured settings.

| Field            | Description                                                  |
| ---------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------ |
| **Name**         | Connector profile name                                       |
| **Source** | (*will be filled automatically*) |
| **Automation** | Select an interval at which the import should be carried out |
| **ICS File URL** | insert the URL under which your .ics file is accessible |

The **URL** must contain an explicit **path to your .ics calendar file**. This is the only way the file can be read and imported by the connector.

### Important notes

* Only *"whole days ”* are imported (no dates of e.g. 2 hours)
* Dates in the past are not imported.
* Each import overwrites the previous data

### Test and Activate the Import Process

After you have finalised your configuration, you can test the connector profile to determine which datasets will be imported using the **Save and Simulate** button. Once you are satisfied with the results, it is possible to either perform a one off import using the **Action** > **Import Now** option or automate the import to be performed at regular intervals by clicking the **Automate** button.

### Calendar action condition

At the same time, an associated action condition is created for calendar queries, which you can use as a **"condition”** for checking rest days or public holidays, for example.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.pascom.net/en/integrations/connector/calendar-ical.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `build a script that syncs our docs to a CMS` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
