# Automation

Learn how to automate the connector with cronjobs..

## Automate Connector

In the **Basedata** tab of the connector, you can have the PASCOM telephone system perform the data import automatically at certain intervals.

{% hint style="info" %}
Automation is only possible if the data does not come from a manual source (e.g. a CSV file), as it must be uploaded manually.
{% endhint %}

### Automation intervals explained.

With automation, you have no direct influence on fixed times at which the data import is to be performed. Instead, times are determined flexibly by the PASCOM telephone system. However, you can define the intervals at which the data import should be started.

**No**

* Automation is deactivated

**Hourly**

* Minute = 0 - 59

**Nightly**

* Minute = 0 - 59
* Hour = 22 - 05

**Weekly**

* Minute = 0 - 59
* Hour = 22 - 05
* Weekday = Saturday or Sunday

**Monthly**

* Minute = 0 - 59
* Hour = 22 - 05
* Day = Between 1st and 5th of the current month

### Automation examples

You want to perform a daily data import. To do this, select **Nightly**.

**Nightly**

* Minute = 0 - 59
* Hour = 22 - 05

The data import is then performed at a daily interval between 22:00 in the evening and 05:00 in the morning.

***

You want to perform a weekly data import. To do this, select **Weekly**.

**Weekly**

* Minute = 0 - 59
* Hour = 22 - 05
* Weekday = Saturday or Sunday

The data import is then performed at a weekly interval every Saturday or Sunday, between 22:00 in the evening and 05:00 in the morning.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.pascom.net/en/integrations/connector/automation.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `build a script that syncs our docs to a CMS` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
